Making your own gifts for the holidays is a perfect way to show someone how much you care! This peppermint scrub recipe is easy to make, using ingredients from your kitchen. I use green food coloring to make the scrub festive for Christmas, but you can use any color you like.

Using a scrub to exfoliate your body removes dead skin, dirt, and oils. It works to reveal smoother and brighter skin underneath.

The sugar in this body scrub will exfoliate your skin, while the coconut and olive oils moisturize and hydrate. Exfoliating is important to keep your skin soft and clean. Use a body scrub twice a week to increase circulation in your skin and encourage new skin cells to form. Exfoliation can also dry out the skin, which is why the oils in this recipe are perfect for keeping your skin healthy and hydrated.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 Cup of Organic Cane sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons of Coconut Oil (unrefined cold pressed)
  • 1/2 Cup of Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Cup of Peppermint Extract
  • Green Food Coloring
  • Small Container or Jar

What to do:

  • Mix sugar and coconut oil in a small bowl.
  • Mix in peppermint extract, olive oil, and a few drops of food coloring.
  • Combine ingredients until the body scrub is mixed thoroughly.
  • Place in a small jar or container

Fun Fact: Coconut Oil contains saturated fats that work to moisturize the skin.

Start off with the organic sugar. Add in the coconut oil and the peppermint extract. Lastly, mix in the food coloring and olive oil. Make sure everything is mixed in well. If your scrub is very dry and crumbles easily, add in some more coconut oil. You want to be able to gift a scrub that works well on all skin types! Fill your mixture into a cute jar to gift to someone you care about.

This scrub is perfect to use for the body, but can also be used as an energizing lip scrub! Make the recipe without food coloring to avoid coloring your lips. When using an exfoliant on your lips, it is extremely important to hydrate right after with a lip balm or moisturizer.
