Roses are amazing for a homemade skin care routine. Use the petals of a single rose to make a facial treatment to calm and rejuvenate the skin.
Rose petals are full of nutrients that are anti-inflammatory and hydrating. Using rose petals on the face will work to tone the skin and help clear the face of imperfections. Rose water can be purchased from most pharmacies and grocery stores, but if you already have even just 1 rose in your home you are ready to make your own homemade skin care rose treatment!
Rose water is antibacterial and can be used to treat acne.
All you need to make this facial treatment is one natural rose, without added dyes or colors, and a mortar and pestle. Remove the rose petals from the stem and add them into the mortar. Grind the rose petals with the mortar until the liquid starts to come out of the petals.
If you don’t have a mortar and pestle, you can use a plastic ziplock bag and rolling pin! Just add the petals to the ziplock bag, remove as much air as possible, and seal. Roll the rolling pin over the petals with heavy pressure until the petals begin to release the liquid.
Remove the petals from the mortar (or ziplock bag) and gently rub them over clean skin in circular motions. Continue until your entire face & lips have been covered. After, find a place to lie down at home and place the crushed petals over your face. Try to cover as much of your face as possible while leaving space to breathe! Leave on for 5 minutes, and then rinse off with warm water.
The scent of roses works as aromatherapy. Their scent is known to relax and calm the mind.
